Beware...lots of layouts!

Halloween weekend is coming and while I don't love Halloween my children and grandchildren simply adore it.  I must confess I have bought enough Halloween kits this year to scrap the entire state of Utah.
So here are some spooky layouts to start off.  The first one I used Sarah Barber Design's kit My Soul To Take.   An exceptionally spooky kit that comes with a MA rating.  I love it!
The last week of Deviant Scraps Spook-Tober challenges was to create a layout that was dark or haunting.  Here is mine - I also received a GSO for this one.  Creepy!!!!

Studio Gypsy has her Banner Alpha in the shoppe at Scrapbook Graphics.   This is filled with not only some Halloween badges but gorgeous rosettes, backings and ribbons/bows not to mention alphas galore!

Jenn (Studio TrueBlue) from Studio Gypsy's Creative Team has four sets of lovely templates over at Scrapbook Graphics.  Here are some layouts I did using Jenn's templates and lots of Lisa's (Studio Gypsy) lovely creations (Contradiction, Gratitude, Harvest cardstock, Swankyween, Repository #2 etc.).

I also used one of Studio True Blue's templates and Dawn InSkip's Ballet Recital in this piece (what a fun kit).

Lots of Halloween activities this weekend!  Have a safe and haunting Halloween!

Raining on Sunday

A gloomy, cold rainy Sunday - love days like this.  Weather like this just seems to give me permission to be lazy and have a quiet day.

Denise from DigiDesigns by Denise has a stunning Autumn kit out called Fall Beauty.  The rich colors and gorgous textures make this kit perfect for all your fall scrapping pages.  You can find Fall Beauty at Digiridoo.  Denise also has an add-on for you on her blog for this beautiful kit.  Here are my "fall beauties"!  Unbelievable how much these two have grown!

Ms. Lou from LouCee's Creations is already thinking about the Christmas holidays - must be those visions of sugarplums in her head!  She has a CU Christmas Mix over at Digiridoo.  I love the beautiful jeweled belt buckle.  It makes me think of getting all dressed up in velvet and jewels and going to the Nutcracker - how elegant!
Renata at Serene by RW has a brand new release at Inspiration Lane called My Mum.  Such a pretty kit with a gorgeous combination of papers and elements. There is such a clean sophisticated feeling to this kit.  Love the little birds!
If you haven't heard of assemblage art you really must go get the latest copy of Altered Hearts and read up on this amazing art form.  Both physically and digitally this form of art is certainly challenging.  I had never done a piece like this and was intrigued so I gave it a go.  Here is my piece filled with all of my favorite things.  Not only was this a fun challenge but it was great to look at ALL my digital kits and remember what amazing designers there are out there.  If you are up to a challenge check out Sharon's (aka skyezak) post at Deviant Art and join us.

Studio Gypsy has her amazing cardstocks in the shoppe at Scrapbook Graphics.  I love having a good supply of solid beautifully colored cardstocks in my stash.  You can find her Harvest set at SBG and also the Basic pack.

I am loving these  RX Labels by Studio Gypsy.  They are so vintage and if you take the time to read them they are pretty funny.  I can't wait to use them in an altered art piece.

A refill of coffee and perhaps staying in p.j.s all day - such perfection!  Have a great week!

Life's Lessons

This is my first piece using Studio Gyspy's kits.  What wonderful textures and gorgeous elements in this kit called Gratitude.   This is a tribute to my grandmother.  She was a widow at a young age and raised six children on her own.  She is such an inspiration to me and taught me so much about family, hard work and loving.  The memories I have of my grandmother are so precious and I can only hope my grandchildren have wonderful memories of me when they get older.  I miss my grandma every day!

Yikes...

I know I say this time after time but where in the heck do the days go? After my last lapse in blogging I vowed to keep up and here I am again behind. So here goes...

Mel Hains from Scrap That Idea has Mystery Bag October 2010 in her store for a limited time. A fun halloween kit with wonderful papers and halloween flairs!

Mel also has a new kit out called Popsy. Gorgeous kit with such bright and happy colors. Coming soon to Mel's shoppe at Scrap That Idea.

DigiDesigns by Denise has a new set of templates out at Digiridoo, Handy Helpers 3. Love these templates to get you started on those days when you need a jump start!

I also used Denise's Nature Walk on this piece.

Here is another one using Denise's templates and Chocolate Geranium's Hoot Scootin' kit over at Digiridoo.

The alpha is from Lisete Scraps Little Miracle kit.

Denise also has a special coupon on her blog - don't miss it!

I was picked in the first week of the Spook-Tober challenge over at Deviant Scrap to participate in Miss B's Shadow class. So exciting to be going back to school with Miss B. The second week challenge is up. The challenge is to create a frankenstein using CrowAbout StudioB and Clementine's designs. Here is my take. A little "Rusty Frankenstein Family" Halloween card.

The Transformation Deck challenge this month is "Release The Reins". This transformation card hit home with me this month as I have made a lot of big changes in my life lately and releasing the reins has perhaps been the hardest thing for me to do. It is a one day at a time challenge but so reaffirming even in the smallest steps! Here is my piece.

October challenges at Digiridoo are always so much fun, so if you haven't participated in these head over and give them a try. These challenges really push me to scrap a bit differently. Here is mine for the art journal challenge and the scraplift challenge.

Exciting news - my digital muse Sharon aka Skyezak, who always keeps me on top of things and provides me with so much inspiration, let me know that Studio Gypsy was having a CT call - I applied and guess what...

I love Lisa's style of designing and I am so excited to be part of this amazing team!

Spent some time in the gorgeous fall sunshine with my littlest granddaughter and got some beautiful shots of her. Layouts coming soon.

OMG you need to go over to Scrapbook Graphics and check out Tangie Baxter's kit Dia de los Muertos.

Life is good in my little part of this world - wishing the same for all you!

I've been published!

The October issue of The Artisan Notebook is out. I am honored to be part of this enormously talented group of designers and digital artists. You can pick up the October issue here. And to brag a bit - check out my layout in the Recipe for Design section...woohoo!

Now I am really going to vacuum.

Time Flies

I have been a very bad blogger and have a lot of updating to do, so please bear with me. My apologies to my designers whom I have neglected...sometimes I just don't know where the time goes.

Denise from DigiDesigns by Denise has an awesome kit out - actually one kit for boys and one for girls - Rad Dude and Skater Girl. Plus Denise has a free coordinating alpha on her blog. Love this kit - especially the skulls and the grunginess of this kit.

Lou from LouCee's Creations is having a huge sale over at DSO. DSO is closing their doors. DSO was a wonderful place and holds a special spot for me as I posted some of my very first layouts over there. Good luck to all the wonderful ladies over there!

You can find all these fabulous CU kits on sale at Lou's store over at Digiridoo too!

Sarah Barber Design has a wonderful kit inspired by Sarah's best friend called Fussy, filled with wonderful sticker and chipboard pieces. It is available over at Digiridoo.

If you can keep a secret - watch this space for a new kit from Sarah out soon. Oh my I saw a sneak peek and I can't wait!!!

Over at Digiridoo Scraps there are some gorgeous new kits out. Feli Designs and Studio4 Designworks teamed up to produce a stunning kit called Autumnally Yours. The colors in this kit are so rich and beautifully textured! They have also included a free pack of the stunning papers!

Designs by Angie's Happiness kit is also out over at Digiridoo. Such a clean and simply beautiful kit. I used Angie's kit to scrap a tribute layout to my faithful companion of 13 years - Chase, my best friend, my dog! I said good-bye to Chase last week and I miss him so much. Here's to you my friend.

Vicki from A Work In Progress and Mel from Mel's LIghtbulb Moments have teamed up with a new collab from their design team called M&Verick Designs. It is called Wanderlust and you can find this bundle over at Scrap That Idea. I wish I could take credit for the photo from Ireland but it was actually taken by my brother on his trip there - so jealous!

Deviant Scrap is hosting Spook-tober with a new challenge every week. This week we were given a photo of a turban pumpkin to use in a layout. Quite frankly I have been totally creatively blocked for the last week or so...I spent a lot of time just staring at my computer, no ideas coming to me at all - but leave it up to the gals over at Deviant Scrap to give me a challenge and get those juices flowing again. Here are my contributions to this week's challenge.

Head over to Deviant Scrap - there are some fantastic prizes involved!!!

Off to vacuum - sounds like fun huh?
