Challenges

This weekend I have had some fun and participated in a couple challenges at different websites. Something i haven't done for a while. The first one is the Blind Date Challenge from Sausan Designs - she provides the kit which is bought sight unseen and you do a layout. It was a really cute kit and fun to work with. I have always loved Sausan's doodles! Here is my layout.

The second one was a template challenge from Vinnie Pearce. Love her designs!
Template from Vinnie Pearce template challenge
Heart and word stamps from Vinnie Pearce Pieces of Me
Line art from Purple Phase from Vinnie Pearce
Paper, heart tree and scenery heart from Jofia Designs Sweet Song
Vintage photo overlays from Rhonna Farrer

Mel Hains has another new kit over at Iscrapbook. It is called Forever Love and it is so pretty. Here are my two layouts using Mel's Kit. This first one didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it to because I couldn't get the headshots I wanted of everyone, but oh well...they are all still pretty cute!

Here is the second one and a preview of Mel's beautiful kit.

365 Project is coming along - I may be back later with last week's pages but am off to have breakfast (my favorite thing to
do on a Sunday!).

Week 2

Here is Week 2 of the 365 Project. I was having a hard time with the photos but after looking at other blogs and what other people are doing I think i am putting too much thought into it. I need to just take some everyday shots and also the really good shots and be happy with it.

OK I am frustrated - can somebody tell me how you get the two layouts to be side by side? I am sure it is something very simple!

Mel's New Kit

Mel has a beautiful kit now in the Iscrapbook store. It is called Rustic Sunset and the papers and elements in this kit are just gorgeous. The colors are so rich and pretty.

Here is a layout using Paislee Press Press Plate No. 13 template, Natali Designs All You Need Is Love Kit for the background paper, overlay and butterflies, Paisless Press Pregnancy Presslines No. 10 wordart and Oscraps Collab Kit Letters.

Project 365 is coming along - I will have this week's pages up later as I am a bit behind on the photos.

Hope everyone has a great week!

One week of 365 Project

Here is the second half of the first week of the project. The grandkids are probably going to dominate my project but I am also
going to try to take some photos just because. The candle was actually an effort to get the bubble bath and the candle after a
long 12 hours of working, didn't quite work out with the bubbles - something to work on I guess.

Page 1 of Week 1

I have decided to scrap a week at a time for the 365 Project. So here is the first half of the first week. It has been so nice to just sit and scrap over the holidays that it is going to be very hard going back to work tomorrow. I don't know if I will get a whole week of photos as my life is quiet and kindof boring, but I have decided if I don't get a photo I will either journal a bit more or add a quote or something that is meaningful to me or even something that is just plain silly!

Off to walk the big, black, furry beast!

365 Project

I am so excited about participating in the 365 Project, not only because I definitely could use some practice with my photography but because it will actually MAKE me do some scraping for me. Sometimes I feel like I am scraping for the designers (although I love this, don't get me wrong) and don't do any layouts that really are about my daily life and the little special moments we tend to forget. So this will be an adventure. I think I am going to scrap a weekly page or maybe even monthly - I will have to see how the photography thing goes. Anyway, at the end of the project my hope is to have a book that I can print. Here is the cover that I am planning on using. It is made up from paper from Vinnie Pearce, brushes from Imagine by Fran, wordart by TaylorMade, an overlay from Natali Design and the font is Chic Decay.

I love this style of grungy looking elements - I just hope my photography and scrapbook pages will fit in with the cover. Oh well, that is the beauty of digital scrapbooking - I can always start over!

Happy New Year's

I hope you all had a happy and safe New Year's!

Mel's been busy again pumping out those kits! The first is called "A Little Bit Of This and That". I am just in love with the argyle pattern papers and the colors she used in this kit. You can pick this kit up over at Iscrapbook

Watch Mel's blog this next week as she will also have a freebie for you with some great treats from this kit. Here is your sneak preview.

And of course here is a beautiful pastel kit from Mel called Dream. Mel does love her pastels!

Check out Vicki's blog for another beautiful kit called Lily's Garden. It is free and just gorgeous! While you are there check on all the great stuff from the Scrap 'N Art Magazine this month. Vicki has done the coolest kit for them - I am so excited to use it!

One of my resolutions this year is to try the 365 Project. You take one photo a day and then at the end of the month or at the end of a week (however you want to do it) you scrap a page or two. I am hoping this will keep me on track and help get some of my "real life" scraping up-to-date. Ikeagoddess and Meredith at Moriginalsboth have some great templates to use for this project.
Also go over to Digitreats as Pam also has some great ideas for a similar project.

Back later with more layouts - it's cloudy and cold and a perfect day to just sit and scrap with a hot steamy cup of coffee!
